Dr. Alaref is experienced, trusted and one of the top lawyers and legal scholars in Libya. His practical experience extends to over 40 years in different fields; Dr. Alaref holds an LLM- master’s degree in Insurance and Medical Law from the University of Tripoli. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Insurance Law from the University of Tripoli. He specializes in many fields of law including Insurance Law, Contract Law, Civil Law, Commercial and Civil Procedure Law.

Dr. Alaref has worked as a public attorney and a private attorney who now pleads before all courts, including the Supreme Court. He also was a legal adviser to the Ministry of Justice and the Law School dean of the University of Zaitouna. He has held many highly esteemed positions such as a lecturer at Libyan universities where he has taught various branches of Civil Law (Insurance – Contracts – Commercial and Civil Procedure Law)

Dr. Alaref has excelled in the field of insurance. He has published many articles on Insurance Laws. In addition, he has written many books, the most important of which is a book explaining the provisions of the contract of sale in Libyan law, which is currently a part of the curriculum taught in many Libyan universities on Contract Law. He is also regarded as one of the leading lawyers in the insurance practice area and provides legal support to a number of local and foreign insurance players by providing advice on insurance-related matters including litigation, regulatory, and compliance issues.
