Hesham Salama’s practical experience in Commercial Law extends over 30 years. He has established himself as a trusted adviser to a range of private providers, local authorities, and central government developers, advising them on complex public and private projects. Salama represents private and public companies, developers, lenders, and sponsors in relation to the development, financing, strategic acquisition and sale issues and infrastructure projects in Libya.
Although his focus at Abdou Law Firm has been on commercial and civil issues, his experience extends to commercial disputes and litigation management, primary and secondary mortgage market transactions, private equity funds, and Environmental law and litigation. He has experience in handling bankruptcy, banking regulation, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, public company investor reporting, and corporate governance, purchase, sale, and licensing of technology. He has also provided general counseling of senior managers on strategic and day-to-day management, compliance issues, executive compensation, qualified retirement plans, employee health and other welfare benefit plans, payroll tax issues, and general tax and employment-related laws.
Prior to joining Abdou Law Firm, he had worked as an attorney in Egypt from 1994 to 2007 where he advised international commercial clients, non-profits, and government organizations in Egypt. Salama also held different effective positions such as a legal consultant at Al-Mahawar for Real Estate Investment and Free Libya Channel (TV).
