Asma Souf has worked as an attorney and legal consultant for approx. twenty years including sixteen years in the field of insurance. She now pleads before all courts, including the Supreme Court. Asma worked for several insurance companies with different positions such as a member of the legal office at an African insurance company - the adviser for legal affairs at Altakful insurance - the director of the legal office at Tibesti Insurance Company.
Asma worked as the secretary board of directors and general assembly for many insurance companies. This position allowed her the ability to prepare corporate internal decisions, minutes, and so on. Asma has perfect experience and efficiency in establishing a legal department for insurance companies and preparing all their internal regulations such as the article of association, administrative executive regulations, administrative sanctions regulations, internal training regulations, occupational safety regulations, organizational structures, and job description for insurance companies. In addition, she has good experience in finalizing administrative procedures for such companies. Also, she has technical skills in drafting and reviewing contracts especially in relation to health and insurance.
Asma Souf has participated in many committees as a head or member of the committee such as employment committees, technical insurance committees, compensation committees, the committee for establishing internal regulations, dispute settlement committee, investigation committees in the technical, legal, and administrative issues.
Asma Souf was nominated in 2008 as a member of the Association of Arab insurance laws supervised by the General Arab Insurance Union. Because of this membership, she participated in many international events. Afterward, she has been elected in 2012 as a member of the association management of the association representation Libya. Her role at the association was to gather the Libyan insurance laws with all of its amendments and forwarding them to the association and then provide the association with her outcomes in relation to the best way to develop these laws. Additionally, because of this position, she works on international disputes between Arab insurance companies.
